The aim was to design a lounge chair that was both comfortable and affordable, without relying on petrochemical foams. Traditional bean bags offered a low-cost way to create large, soft forms but lacked structure and support. Research into sustainable alternatives led to the discovery of biofoam, a biodegradable material with the strength and resilience of polystyrene. By combining this fill with a supportive outer frame, the concept evolved into the Muffin collection, balancing comfort, stability and sustainability.
